Welcome to Dore & Totley Golf Club

Tim Drake- President

It gives me great pride to have been elected as President of this fantastic golf club for 2023.

Having been Club Captain in 2021 and a member of the Board since 2019 I fully understand the commitment and dedication needed by all Club Officials, Directors and Board members to continue to successfully run a club of this size and standing and indeed to continually seek to improve.

As President and Chair of the Board I will continue to serve all our members, to drive improvements, to ensure our club is run in a responsible and effective manner and to consider any suggestions, observations or constructive criticism offered by any of our members.

I would like to thank our outgoing 2022 Captains, Club Captain Jason Ramsden and Lady Captain Alison Shaw, for their hard work and tireless efforts. I also welcome our incoming 2023 Captains, Club Captain David Stevenson and Lady Captain Arlene Roberts.

Here’s to a successful and enjoyable golfing year.

Tim Drake

David Stevenson - Captain

I am honoured to be Dore & Totley Club Captain for 2023.

I have been a member of our fantastic golf club for 28 years, I am part of three generations of my family who play golf at Dore, my two Sons and Father are also active members.

Dore and Totley goes from strength to strength and offers the complete golfing experience, both on and off the course.

My priorities for the year are:

·         Play as much golf, with as many members as I can.

·         Ensure that the club remains financially strong and offers best value for money to members.

My Captains charity for 2023 is Alzheimer’s UK, an organisation that has helped and supported close members of my family, a truly very worthy cause.

May I wish you all a happy and successful golfing year.

Arlene Roberts - Ladies’ Captain

It’s an honour to have been asked to take on the role of Ladies Captain and I am very proud to be representing Dore & Totley golf club during 2023.  I look forward to working with my Vice-Captain Julie Cullen and Club Captain David Stevenson, in continuing to improve and help run what is already a friendly, welcoming, and successful club.

As relatively new to golf, and becoming a member in 2016, I was instantly made to feel welcome and knew that I wanted to become more involved with the club.  I have been on the ladies committee for the past 2 years and on the social committee for 1 year.  During my year as Vice-Captain I had the support and knowledge from the club members, which has given me a great foundation to fulfil my role as ladies Captain.

We have a very strong and supportive ladies section and new lady members of any age and ability are warmly welcomed.  Our friendly coach Steve Robert's, runs a ladies academy, which will enable ladies to progress from beginners to full members.

We participate in the Yorkshire Ladies County Golf Association Inter Club competitions and there are opportunities for all levels of players to take part. This is a great opportunity to play matches against other clubs and meet other golfers.

My chosen charity for this year is St Luke’s Hospice, an amazing local charity who offer care, support and help to terminally ill patients and their families.

I would like to extend a warm welcome to all members and visitors, and wish everyone an enjoyable year.
